Wamiqa Gabbi To Join Sonakshi Sinha And Richa Chadha In Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Web Series Heeramandi? Here’s What We Know
If the recent buzz is to be believed, Wamiqa Gabbi has been roped in to play a pivotal role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s show 'Heeramandi.'
As many know, Sonakshi Sinha, Manisha Koirala and Richa Chadha have reportedly collaborated with Sanjay Leela Bhansali for his upcoming web series on courtesans, 'Heeramandi'. Now, as per the latest reports, it is said that Punjabi actress Wamiqa Gabbi has also bagged an important role in the series. Heeramandi is SLB’s next project which portrays strong female characters and will allegedly encompass many dance sequences. The actress who has been a part of many regional projects is the new talk of the town, owing to this huge project.
An insider was quoted as saying, “The show is currently in full swing in pre-production and the cast is almost locked. Wamiqa is set to play a pivotal role and is currently in the process of finalising all the details for it. The filming will tentatively begin at the end of this year.”
Sanjay Leela Bhansali is known for his epic dramas with extravagant dance-offs and powerful storylines. 'Heeramandi' is one such project where the lives of the courtesans of Lahore will come alive. It allegedly focusses on the red-light area of Lahore. According to the reports, Wamiqa will be playing a strong character in the film and she will begin prepping for the role soon.
The Netflix project, which revolves around courtesans in the Lahore district in pre-Independence India, will reportedly also feature Juhi Chawla in an important role.
With her praiseworthy performance in the web series Grahan, Wamiqa reportedly has been approached by many A-list filmmakers.
